Ignite Prayer: The Big Idea
Wouldn’t You Like to ignite a new passion for Prayer? Most Christians lament that they just don’t pray enough.
What is the Vision? What would happen if God would ignite a spirit of prayer across the state of Utah? What if it started in the heart of every Christian, and spread to every street and neighborhood across our state?
Why? Jesus wants to bring spiritual healing to the hearts of our neighbors. In order for this to happen, we must first begin to answer His call to prayer. The Bible declares, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
What are the Goals? From March 1, 2022- Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 our goal is to have individuals do a prayer walk on every street in Utah.
How will we do this? By calling on the Christians of Utah to start at their home and walk the streets of their neighborhoods praying for the people who live in the houses and apartments around them.
Who can participate? If you are a Christian and disciple of Jesus, you and your fellow believers are invited to be a part of Ignite Prayer 2022.

How to do a prayer walk
If you can walk and talk, and you love Jesus, you can do a prayer walk.
Before you Walk: Read and reflect on the Scriptures below, and begin praying for the people in your neighborhood. If you know some of your neighbors by name, pray for them.
Start at your home: Pray and ask God to open your eyes and show you what He sees in your neighborhood.
Invite a Friend or two to join you: You can pray walk with other Christians!
Here are some things you can pray before you head out on your walk! Pray that the Spirit will move and God will . . .
Open HEAVENS “Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down,
that the mountains would tremble before you!” Isaiah 64:1
Open HOMES (John 4:3) “So he left Judea and went back once more to Galilee.”
Open HEARTS On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there. One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. Acts 16:13-14
Open HIGHWAYS 'A voice of one calling: In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Isaiah 40:3
Open HANDS Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. Matthew 10:38-39
Open SPIRIT: “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.” John 15:26
Open PRAYER: “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-10
Alone or in groups of 2 or 3, pray this out loud, be sensitive to the spirit. Start walking and praying! You can do it!
